Dragons & Rayguns with Vince Gotera
We are bringing 2025 Iowa Poet Laureate Vince Gotera to RAYGUN. Gotera will perform fun and fantastic poetry from Dragons & Rayguns, his 2024 published poetry collection of Space Age Sci-Fi and heroic interplanetary cartoon characters.

About the event
One of the destination shops in Des Moines’ East Village, locally owned RAYGUN , will be animated with an “out of this world” vibe on March 7 at 6:00 PM. Raygun is located at 505 Grand Avenue.
Poetry Palooza! and the Iowa Poetry Association are bringing 2025 Iowa Poet Laureate Vince Gotera to RAYGUN. Gotera will perform fun and fantastic poetry from Dragons & Rayguns, his 2024 published poetry collection of Space Age Sci-Fi and heroic interplanetary cartoon characters.
From 6:00 to 6:30 gather for social time with food, drink and a dragons and rayguns photo booth. Storyhouse Bookpub will sell Gotera’s books. Gotera will present at 6:30 followed by a book signing.
Parking: There is metered street parking nearby and throughout the East Village, and there are public parking ramps located at 628 East Grand Avenue (recommended), 501-599 E 4th St, or 402 E. 2nd St.
